Laboratory Testing (LTI) was recently awarded the Outstanding Company Support Award by the ASM International “Philadelphia Liberty Bell Chapter” during the organization’s Honors & Past Chairpersons Night. The materials testing and calibration laboratory was recognized for its continuing support as an ASM Sustaining Member, a Materials Camp sponsor and an active participant in Chapter meetings, committees and events. Laboratory Testing is a 26-year Sustaining Member and has sponsored the annual Materials Camp held in June at Drexel University since the program began nine years ago. A number of LTI employees are long-term members of the Philadelphia Chapter, and many have chaired and participated on a variety of committees over the years.
Laboratory Testing is pleased to announce that one of its employees has received the respected ASM “Philadelphia Liberty Bell Chapter” President’s Award. Brian Gorney, the 2012-2103 Philadelphia Chapter Vice-Chairperson, was also honored with his award at the Honors & Past Chairpersons Night at Williamson Restaurant in Horsham, PA. Brian, who will be taking over the position of Chapter Chairperson next year, was recognized for his work and support of the ASM Chapter’s programs this past year. He was Chairperson of the Materials Camp Committee, being responsible for the application and selection process, as well as coordinating advertising and fundraising. He was also Chairperson of the Young Members Committee and coordinated their annual event, Young Members Night, which was held last November at Drexel University. The award was presented by the outgoing Chairperson, Trevor Jones.
Brian holds the position of Quality Assurance Engineer at LTI and is primarily responsible for assisting with customer audits, assuring testing compliance and working with customers regarding procedures and questions. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Material Science Engineering degree.
