LTI Expands to Third Facility for Metrology Lab

Characterizations from a chemical analysis lab offer manufacturers deeper material insight.

LTI Metrology facilityLaboratory Testing Inc. recently expanded into a third facility in Hatfield PA to continue meeting the service needs of its growing customer base. This additional building, known as LTI East, has become home to the Administration Department and the LTI Metrology lab, the calibration and dimensional inspection division of Laboratory Testing Inc. The vacated space at the main building is being used to expand the company’s materials testing laboratories, as well as the Sales/Customer Service and Marketing Departments. Expansion to the second building occurred in 2011, when LTI moved Magnetic Particle Inspection, Liquid Penetrant Testing and Corrosion Testing to another nearby building to provide room for growth and new equipment.

The new LTI Metrology lab was upgraded with a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled work environment provided by Western Environmental Corporation. The new climate-control system monitors, regulates and displays both temperature and humidity around the clock. The room is kept at a constant 68o, plus or minus .5o F, for stabilizing measuring tools, weights and products before calibration and dimensional inspection to ensure accurate results. The system software also tracks temperature and humidity and maintains a database of historical data for reporting on conditions over time.

The LTI Metrology lab is accredited by A2LA for instrument calibration, on-site calibration and dimensional inspection services. All calibration and inspection results are NIST traceable.

Calibration service is offered for measuring hand tools, gages, standards and pressure, torque, force, temperature, electrical, mass, vacuum and flow instruments. The on-site calibration technicians at LTI Metrology can provide calibration services for scales and balances, CMMs, microscopes, surface plates, ovens and furnaces, Rockwell hardness testers, optical comparators, recorders, temperature controllers, measuring tools and gages and much more right at your facility.

Customers receive a detailed Certificate of Calibration for each item receiving calibration services. The Certificate lists “as found” and “as left” conditions, our NIST-traceable standards, complete calibration results and any adjustments or repairs made at our calibration laboratory. Pick-up and delivery services are offered to customers near our Hatfield, PA metrology lab.
